A Book With a Regional Focus That is
an International Affair
Understanding Water Rights And Conflicts
By Herbert C. Young
Publisher: BurgYoung Publishing
Published: August 2003
Pages: 340
ISBN: 1-893478-05-x
Although this book concentrates on the Colorado Water Rights and
Conflicts, it really is a wonderful guide to problems and solutions in all
communities across the United States. As the author states so truthfully
in the beginning of the book, this book is “both a reference work and
education resource.” And that it is. After reading the book you will be
able to answer these questions:
· Is there enough water?
· Where does your water come from?
· What problems face your water supply?
· Is terrorism a problem for your water supply?
· Can you protect yourself from drought?
· Can the environment be protected?
· Are there solutions to the coming “water crisis”?
Different than most resource books, Understanding Water Rights and
Conflicts, is easy to read and easy to understand. The words flow smoothly
and the lay person doesn’t need a dictionary to get through the book. I
found the book both interesting and useful in understanding the water
system more and have turned over my copy to a manager at the city’s water
department.
I can see that the book would be very useful in the classroom to students
studying the water system and water rights and would recommend that all
professors and students alike in this field, pick up a copy of this
wonderfully insightful book. I also suggest that anyone interested in
getting clean water or understanding the water system more thoroughly,
should get a copy for themselves.
The book is also available online as an ebook or you can purchase a CD-Rom
of the book. You can visit the publisher’s website at
