Book Description
Trouble is brewing in Pecos County. Family man William Hart is drawn into it
when gunmen in long, dusty trail coats are hired by a greedy and ruthless
land baron to terrorize the citizens of the sleepy prairie town of
Enterprise, Texas.
His one-man war for justice leads to a life-and-death struggle for survival.
And then the unthinkable happens.
Veiled in the enchantment of West Texas in the 1870s, this story is a
compelling combination of adventure, excitement, history and romance.
About the
Author
Award-winning writer Charles E. "Chuck" Edmonson grew up
deep in the heart of Texas, with a passion for the Old West. Born a stone's
throw from the historic Alamo in San Antonio, Chuck was the fourth of eight
children in the family of native Texan Jack W. E. Edmonson and Mattie S.
Deville Edmonson.
For the formative years of his life, his summers were spent on the plains
and cotton fields of West Texas, out of which grew a respect for the land
and a love of history. He still is captivated by the enchantment of West
Texas, and is driven to capture in words the spirit of the region.
Chuck now hangs his hat in the Pacific Northwest with his wife, Cheryl. He
has two daughters, Chelsea and Christa
