Harpist and poet, Laurel Federbush, has written a wonderful new novel
revolving around the music industry. Iris a classical harp student, met
and became friends with Mink, a rock musician. The story is set in the
wintery city of Toronto and the happenings about the city. Iris liked Mink
and began a journey with him through his ups and downs and his
relationship with singer Ruby Treece. It wasn’t a normal friendship, as
Iris wasn’t always there with Mink, she was a student and Mink a musician.
But when she was there with Mink or when Mink was with her, Iris offered a
special friendship throughout the years. Iris is able to experience Mink’s
relationships with girls, bands and others throughout her friendship with
Mink. It is a one-sided love story or friendship story of sorts, but
touches your heart and your feelings.
As the author puts it, “ The saga of a rock musician going from one blonde
bombshell to another, as told by a mousy brunette.” And this is so true.
Pick up a copy of this wonderfully written book. It is a lighthearted book
that you can read over and over again.
