About the Author
Joan Grindley is a divorced mother of four and grandmother of eight who began writing when she was in her forties and her marriage was failing. The writing began as a form of therapy and ended up as a calling. She returned to college at age fifty to get her long overdue degree, hone her literary skills and begin to write.
When Grandma Julia died, she evoked a promise from her granddaughter to put down her story; and so, immediately after retiring from a corporate career, Joan began the novel based on her grandmother’s life.
