About The Author

Stephen D. Gutierrez is the author of a previous collection of stories, ELEMENTS, winner of the Nilon Excellence in Minority Fiction Award. Widely published in both fiction and non-fiction, he has published individual stories and essays in leading literary magazines and anthologies, and in the Los Angeles Times and San Francisco Chronicle. Originally from Los Angeles, he lives in the San Francisco Bay area, where he directs the creative writing program at California State University, East Bay.
