Not everything is what it first seems to be.
Like a series of pleasing optical illusions that change utterly the longer
they’re viewed, James Driscoll’s well crafted psychological, murder/mystery
stories captivate with their unexpected twists and their clever, satisfying
shifts of direction. The unanticipated reigns in each of these ingenious tales.
With a well schooled eye for the true ironies of life, Driscoll provides the
double satisfaction of the unexpected ending along with a satisfying sigh of,
“Ah, of course. That’s exactly the way it should be. Poetically just.” Read
them. You’ll see. Nothing will be what it first seems.
